“There’s a time and place for medication, and there’s also a time and place for everything else”
- Brittany Ranieri, D.O.
Florida Integrative Psychiatry
At Salt + Light Psychiatry, we envision a world where mental health care honors the individuality of each person—recognizing that not everyone fits neatly within the DSM. Our approach is collaborative, compassionate, and holistic, with a specialized focus on the art of deprescribing—minimizing medications when appropriate to restore balance and empower healing from within. Positive mental health is more than merely the absence of mental illness; it is wellness.
Dr. Ranieri received certification in Integrative Psychiatry through the University of Arizona - Andrew Weil School of Integrative Medicine. As an osteopathic physician, she believes in treating the mind, body, and spirit.
Did you know that the word “psychiatrist” translates to “healer of the soul” in Latin? Dr. Ranieri takes this calling very seriously, and strives daily to do right by her patients by incorporating integrative modalities to promote healing from within.
Integrative Psychiatry in Bonita Springs
Integrative psychiatry is healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person, including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between psychiatrist and patient, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapies.
We believe:
Patient and psychiatrist are partners in the healing process.
All factors that influence health, wellness, and disease are taken into consideration, including mind, spirit, and community, as well as the body.
Appropriate use of both conventional and alternative methods facilitates the body's innate healing response.
Effective interventions that are natural and less invasive should be used whenever possible.
Integrative medicine neither rejects conventional medicine nor accepts alternative therapies uncritically.
Good medicine is based in good science. It is inquiry-driven and open to new paradigms.
